Södra Råda timmerkyrka, a place steeped in history and tradition. The tragic loss of a priceless heritage in 2001 has given us the opportunity to use medieval methods to create something new, beautiful and meaningful.

An eventful year in Södra Råda - thank you for 2025!

The year 2025 was a year filled with experiences, community and exciting collaborations! Our popular bus tours and guided tours attracted both new and returning visitors who wanted to discover the history, nature and crafts around Södra Råda.
In collaboration with the Gullspång Nature Conservation Association, we started an important project to restore the hay meadow at the log church in Södra Råda - a work that combines cultural heritage and nature conservation and which will continue in the coming years.
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Building Conservation Year, we organized two popular hourly courses, where participants could try out traditional building techniques. We also had the great pleasure of welcoming Andreas Alm from Lund University, who gave an inspiring lecture on the artist and folklorist N.M. Mandelgren.
Summer also brought our traditional textile craft weekend
As always, the year also offered courses such as spångille and mowing courses - where both local participants and long-distance guests took part to keep the traditions alive. During the spångillet, there was the opportunity to sponsor and nail your own shavings to the church wall.
We look back on 2025 with pride - and with great anticipation we look forward to new experiences, collaborations and meetings in 2026. Welcome to join us on the next chapter in the story of Södra Råda!
