Project to recreate meadows on the church site
Welcome to our study group on recreating meadows in the churchyard!
Together with Naturskyddsföreningen (Natur Conservation Group) i Gullspång and Studieförbundet Vuxensskolan (Adult Education Institute), we are now starting an inspiring study group where we work to recreate the meadows on the church site and increase biodiversity. We hope you will join us on this exciting journey - it will be educational, fun and rewarding!
A warm welcome!

Spring clean
Invitation to Spring Clean - An old tradition with a new twist!
Vårfagning 'Spring Clean' is an ancient tradition that marks the arrival of spring. When the wood Anemone - the fagging flower - blooms, we gather to rake the meadows clean of twigs, branches and withered leaves, just as we used to do at the May Day fair. The fires which were set alight once the sweeping was finished, lit the early May evenings and became a symbol of the long-awaited arrival of spring.
Welcome to carry on the tradition with us on April 12!
We gather to rake up fallen sticks, branches and dead grass on the meadows. In addition to raking, there will also be building bird houses and grill sausages - a wonderful day for both young and old.
Everyone is welcome and no pre-registration is needed!
Bring work gloves, a rake if you have one, and a good mood.
Let's welcome spring together!

'Slåttergille' Haymaking Festival
Join this year's Haymaking Festival on August 2, where we cherish the tradition together and celebrate summer with work and festivities!
"Although the meadow is usually little used, haymaking was always (especially in earlier times) a beloved holiday, which the farmer celebrated with the happiest guild, or Slèt-karl-gildet, when he for the help of his neighbors passed them slèt-ating. This was no less a pleasure than a benefit, for it was arranged that the day's work should be finished in good time, so that there would be time to enjoy oneself."
Everyone is welcome and also on this day you will learn more about scythe mowing and have the opportunity to have your scythe sharpened. After the day's mowing, those who want to gather to, in good tradition, enjoy good food, drink and fellowship. We look forward to honoring the old trandition together, where both work and joy go hand in hand.
A warm welcome!
